The Tool Kits grew out of a desire to share an approach and learning – providing ideas and examples for  arts and non-profit leaders to explore and borrow from, and are made possible thanks to a rewarding relationship with Toronto Arts Foundation, through Creative Trust Research Fellowship. We hope these tool kits they may offer inspiration and valuable ideas to you as you work to improve the strength and sustainability of your memberships and communities. 

  • Exploring the Feasibility helps you document how your project meets important community needs, and helps you to create a strong action plan and case for funding support.
  • Developing the Organization covers all the steps you need to take to build a sustainable nonprofit or charitable organization.
  • Creating the Program contains tips and tools for creating a program that delivers on your goals and promises.
  • Board & Governance toolkit guides you through defining roles and responsibilities and creating board policies that lead to a strong, healthy partnership between staff and board.
