Andrew Glinski
About:
I am a visual artist who lives and paints in Weston, a neighborhood of Toronto. Although previously known for my large colourful abstract paintings I am now working primarily with landscape themed imagery.
Current work delves into the significance of our contemporary environments and the landscapes that are changing around us. These are paintings of a view of nature affected by human touch. Cocooned trees, winter, new suburban developments and industrial parks assume abstract characteristics. Personality and pictorial relationships form simultaneously in ordinary roadside settings. They are current images of our local landscapes.
I have been involved in many Toronto area art endeavors including exhibiting for 30 years in Southern Ontario with shows in both commercial and artist run galleries. I am a member of the Artists to Artists Foundation based in Weston and am involved in local initiatives in advocating for future planning in the area.
