Since 2005 Artbarn School has been offering creative art experiences to adults and children in North Toronto. From a humble start in a church basement we have grown to over 100 students. As well, as a registered charity, we are able to fundraise and provide scholarships to many talented young students who could otherwise not afford to attend our programmes. Our annual fundraising event, “Raising Artists” , held in November each year is very successful in boosting our Scholarship Fund. We have developed unique programming in EcoArt for children. Our walls have provided an exhibition venue for many local artists. Our vision for Artbarn School is to utilize neighbourhood environments to provide inspiration for the study of art. Our goal is to educate all ages to be more sensitive to the beauty of the natural and built environment. The art history of many cultures underlies and drives all our programmes. Scholarships are granted to children aged 5 to 12 based on financial need and the artistic potential of the child. Applications are reviewed by our Scholarship Committee.
