Carol Berry
About:
With a BFA in studio arts as well as a diploma in graphic design, I am involved in both the applied and the fine arts fields. Like many artists, I work as a freelance graphic designer and production artist creating print layouts. I even worked in prepress for a couple of years. An avid photographer, developing my 35mm black and white film in a closet darkroom has evolved to shooting in 16 bit raw. During the past couple of years I have been focusing more energy on my fine art career, painting both portraits and landscapes in traditional media. In the coming summer months I will be painting oil landscape studies "en plein air". I have been an active member of the Don Valley Art Club for over 10 years, I play an active role in the club, maintaining the club's website and emails. http://www.donvalleyartclub.com
Thoughts about art and community:
As a member of the Don Valley Art Club, a well known community based art club that has been situated in the Don Valley for over 60 years, I receive the emails from the public, asking how to join our club. It is wonderful that so many people want to join a community based art group such as ours, this city is crawling with artists, this is what gives this city its soul. My day job is in graphic design, and the people I work with are very creative and computer literate, big strengths in the landscape of Toronto's job market.
