Dance Our Way Home (DOWH) is a woman's holistic practice of free-style dance, relaxation, guided imagery and life-affirming teachings, held within a safe and non-judgemental context of personal and collective healing, empowerment and community-building. DOWH has been offering dance and movement workshops to women in the GTA for the last 10 years. Working from a community-centred, culturally-appropriate, participant-informed approach, the Community Outreach component of DOWH was initiated in 2010. The program is growing the reach of the positive, change-oriented practice so that all groups of women, especially those marginalised by their circumstances, can access a powerful, embodied practice for individual healing, transformation and community building.
