About:
Emma is a visual artist, artist educator and facilitator, founder of Mindful Rupa Arts.
As a visual artist: my artwork has multiple dimensions, I mainly use acrylic and oil painting, mixed media, photography and art installations. I integrate the principles of mindfulness and contemplative techniques through these mediums.
Em. teaches mindfulness meditation, social emotional awareness and contemplative arts in the community and works with children, youth, adults and seniors in Toronto.
Em. holds a BVA from the University of Aix-en- Provence, has completed the Professional Development Certifications in Expressive Arts Therapy at Isis Toronto; in Art Education and Mentorship at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and in Inter-professional Applied Mindfulness Certification at the University of Toronto.
Em. has also trained as a Nalanda Miksang teacher (Contemplative photography – Level I) at Shambhala Centre and a facilitator for the mindfulness and emotional intelligence program for teenagers with Mindfulness Without Borders.

As a Facilitator and Ambassador for Mindfulness Without Borders, I provide a structure for each meeting of the MAC, as a skillful facilitator I empower others to express themselves freely and openly, using deep listening and mutual understanding to build authentic and rewarding interactions among the group.

Thoughts about art and community:
Mindful Rupa Arts is about learning mindfulness and emotional awareness skills and meditative practices through the use of expressive and contemplative arts: painting, drawing, photography, and other creative mediums.
The arts take a dimension of discovery of oneself, others and the environment. Those practices help to develop emotional awareness and mindfulness into everyday life, in order to reduce stress, anxiety and encourage happiness into the community.
