In 1996 Laura Mullin and Chris Tolley formed Expect Theatre, a registered charitable organization dedicated to producing cutting edge productions and programs that explore modern urban life. Over their fourteen year tenure with Expect, Mullin and Tolley’s work has been seen by nearly half a million young people across Canada and the United States. With a strong focus on hip, diverse story lines, their many workshops and shows have attracted international media attention and have been embraced by a wide range of audiences, from rural east coast Canada to inner-city New York City.

In the fall of 2009, Expect Theatre was short-listed for the Toronto Arts Foundation’s Arts for Youth Award.
