Horizon Arts Camp
About:
Horizon Arts Camp is a registered charity that offers programming taught by professional artists in the visual and performing arts for children ages 7-13. We also offer leadership development programs for 14 and 15 year olds. Each 3-week session provides the opportunity for participants to experience the following activities: Music (eg. percussion, vocal, ensemble work and composition), Dance (eg. jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, latin, and hip hop), Theatre (eg. improv, script work, and character development), Visual Arts (eg. drawing, painting, 3D-sculpture, and mixed media). Our campers work toward developing a performance and an art exhibit for our Arts Showcase at the end of each session. Alongside our arts programming, we also have a balance of traditional camp activities such as Hobbies, Sports, Camp Wide Programming, Sing-a-longs, Leadership Development, Cooperative Games, Spirit Days, and Guest Presentations from performing artists.
Our older campers (aged 11-13) also have the opportunity to experience programming in Radio and Media Arts.
