John Caffery’s artistic practice incorporates music, dance, film, video, textiles, and photography. He is a founding member of Kids On TV, the electro-punk band which has since 2003 melded live performance, film, video, dance-club music and experimental rock. The music of KOTV has been remixed by artists such as Man Parrish and KOTV frequently remix artists (Lioness, Lesbians On Ecstasy) and have collaborated on music with Snax, Katie Stelmanis, and Boy George.
John has been a DJ for ten years playing in clubs regularly in Toronto as well as in Europe. John recently completed a term as the President of Blocks Recording Club, an Artist-Run Record Label based in Toronto. He has been known to stage spontaneous dance parties in public spaces as a collaborator in the project Free Dance Lessons. He has directed ten short films which have , along with his art work, been exhibited in galleries internationally.

Currently, John works with 2 groups, the first is Supporting Our Youth where he is a coordinator of programs for queer and trans youth. The second is Mammalian Diving Reflex, where he is a coordinator of projects that explore the realm of social acupuncture.
