Thoughts about art and community:

Moving to Toronto had always been what I had hoped for since childhood. When I first came to the city I thought the Arts community was massive. I thought to myself how am I going to make the right connections and get the right contacts. An older and much wiser friend had said "it takes time but as long as you see the dream and stay focused everything will work out" And then he said "Always know where you're going and who you are talking to". "Everybody is trying to be an artist here". It seemed to be difficult at first especially when you have so many distractions and life changing experiences along the way but that's life right? Isn't that what it's all about? Life imitating Art. You see when people come together and lend their thoughts, ideas and talents something magical happens. I plan to make some moves in the community when my debut album When You're Gone is released in 2012. My hope is to have a bigger hand in the arts community and manifest change worldwide.
