LISA MARIE DILIBERTO - BIO

Lisa Marie DiLiberto is the Artistic Director of FIXT POINT: an independent theatre company with a mandate to inspire audiences to imagine change. FIXT POINT has a home studio in Parkdale, Toronto but has toured critically acclaimed shows to the Isle of Whyte (UK) and to The Edinburgh Festival (2006); to theatres across Canada (Toronto, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver 2007); to Graz and Vienna in Austria, and to the Prague International Festival (2008).

The company's latest piece, THE TALE OF A TOWN was developed last fall with support from the Toronto Arts Council and will be presented in association with Theatre Passe Muraille, Jumblies Theatre, The City of Toronto and the Canada Council for the Arts in May 2010.

Lisa Marie has trained in mask, vaudeville, character and clown at Ecole Philippe Gaulier, an international school of physical theatre in Paris, France. She is an alumnus of Second City in Toronto and a graduate of George Brown Theatre School.

Lisa Marie has been a guest artist at Vancouver's Moving Theatre, Common Weal (Prince Albert, Saskatchewan), CBC Toronto Film School, Queen's University and Katimavik Canada. Lisa Marie also animates community arts in surrounding neighbourhoods. She is an associate artist at Jumblies Theatre and the former Artistic Director of Arts4All at Toronto's Davenport Perth Neighbourhood Centre where she managed and directed a three-year project involving
over 150 community members.

Lisa Marie collaborates with the Jumblies Studio as Intern Supervisor and Facilitation Trainer. She was the Assistant Director on Jumblies Theatre's Bridge of One Hair at the Harbourfront Centre New World Stage Festival and the Director of the multi-disciplinary performance of Oh The World Will Grow Younger! for Mayworks.

In 2008, Lisa Marie designed and managed FIXT POINT's Artist Educators in Schools and Communities, a conference in Hamilton that trained area artists in facilitation skills. In 2009, FIXT POINT launched a Learn Through Play, Drama and Music classes in Parkdale.
