About:
I am a painter and printmaker but I also enjoy working with video art.
By now I am working on research at the Visual Arts Program, University of Toronto, supervised by Professor George Hawken. We are investigating colors and colors interaction in Intaglio print.
I am also curating a exhibition at the University of Toronto Art Centre art lounge 'Both/ANd 2011: Real versus Unreal.' The opening is on April 7, 2011 and it has called student-artists to explore the ideas of real and unreal in their creative process.
Thoughts about art and community:
I would love to work with some communities. I am applying to volunteer at a Seniors House where I would like to conduct work related to memory and visual articulation. Mainly, have the seniors bring images, photos and other objects and explore their narratives orally and visually. Some methodology used by Anthropologists seem to be suitable, as used to work with Oral History.
I would also be interested to work with teenagers at St. Steven's Community Centre, I live close by Kensington Market. I believe it would be great to work with printmaking with teenagers, it is focused on process and it is a effective way to learn time management and project management.
