Mariposa in the Schools has been sharing and passing on tradition-based performing arts experiences to children and youth since 1969. As an arts education program our professional artist provide music, dance, storytelling, spoken word and puppet theatre performances and workshops that feature oral cultural traditions from around the world, as well interdisciplinary collaborations and teacher education. These tradition-based art forms celebrate, critique and share knowledge, demonstrating the value of cross-cultural understanding and intergenerational continuity and ultimately contribute to building caring, joyful communities.
