Thoughts about art and community:
Art and community is about partnership. It is about the ways in which arts are integrated - whether we choose it or not - throughout our daily experience. Art is therefore not something that is separate, a part from regular activities. I believe that if you viewed our artistic experiences as our life experiences there would a far greater acceptance of arts practises and therefore a deeper foundation for self-expression and change.
Community and art are fluid - we move through our experiences within our defined communities by communicating our perceptions. That communication often is shared through artistic expression. Again, it is about the organic partnership that exists between arts and community.
