Playwrights Guild of Canada (formerly known as Playwrights Union of Canada) is a national arts service organization mandated to serve the creative rights and interests of professional Canadian playwrights, promote Canadian plays nationally and internationally, and foster an active, evolving community of writers for the stage.

Canada's theatre community is as diverse as its population. Canadian theatre appeal to local audiences because of its relevance. The voice of the actor echoes the voice of so many of us within the city. Theatre gives way to catharsis, allows people to share their views and emotions in an intimate and powerful way.
