Tyrone Taiwo
About:
It is common to hear the saying that "hard work beats talent if talent dont work hard". I'm an aspiring artist who lives up to this slogan. I'm born from Nigerian parents and my name is Tyrone Taiwo (also known as Yung Spot) and I'm in constant pursuit of fulfilling my dreams and aspirations. Born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in the depths of Brooklyn, New York I learned how to network, achieve an education, and articulate lyrics in a entertaining style. I resided in Toronto in 2005. I felt welcomed, loved as well as hated. My passion and talent for music came from the relationship between me and the enviornment. The envoirnment helped me to create music suitable for others to listen to and as a way to build my talents. By remaining persistant and displaying good work ethic I'm able to develop the skills needed to continue the pursuit of a rap career. I currently attend York University in which I plan to further my education into Law School to become an Entertainment Lawyer. With this goal I'd be able to intergrate my passion for music and knowledge of the industry.
Thoughts about art and community:
As an artist I love art especially when its all around you. The Toronto community has great and tremendous talent in the arts realm especially with regards to musicians, poets and lyricists. Talented artists such as Michael Snow, Kardinal Official and Drake are all figures that represent Toronto. It would be amazing to discover other talented artists that live in and are proud to be apart of the Toronto community. In my opinion, I think that we know more United States artists than those who are from Toronto. I think that one of the major problems in the art community in Toronto is supporting and investing in our artists. It would only help the communities in Toronto if we could invest and nurture our very own artists.
