Platform A is looking for a passionate person to coordinate a collaborative partnership hosted by four of Toronto’s leading community arts organizations: Art Starts, Jumblies Theatre, SKETCH (with CUE) and VIBE Arts and its growing circle/network of organizations that support emerging artists doing their work in communities. These organizations have emerged from grassroots initiatives to become key community builders in Toronto’s arts sector, engaging thousands of children, young people, adults and seniors annually through diverse and accessible programming. Platform A is committed to mentoring and partnering with emerging arts practitioners to ensure equitable opportunities, capacity building and an interconnected platform with them to build their careers and broadening public experiences in arts and culture. 

One Year Contract: Part Time ​


●  Ensure that the Platform A project is on track and meeting timelines and deliverables as per the Ontario Trillium Foundation and other funder expectations

●  Support and connect eligible artists in accessing learning and mentorship, and other opportunities offered by Platform A partner organizations;

●  Coordinate workshops and peer learning opportunities offered collaboratively by Platform A partner and network organizations and city-wide organizations;

●  Assist in communicating Platform A and similarly aligned opportunities for arts-focused learning, mentorship and micro grants

●  Assist with development and maintenance of social media platforms

●  Develop and disseminate promotional materials regarding Platform A and related events and initiatives

●  Document learning journeys with eligible artists, with milestones and links to resources, that represent coordinated Platform A activities

●  Support artists in other learning opportunities and support their professional development and aspirations (e.g. delivering public workshops/exhibitions) where possible

●  Coordinate photo/digital documentation of relevant activities

●  Collect, organize and synthesise resources developed by Platform A for knowledge sharing

●  Convene, record and maintain records of Platform A partner meetings and manage project communications

●  Maintain and manage budgets for shared expenses

●  Maintain a contact list (media, funders, colleagues) for promoting events

●  Maintain appropriate statistical information

●  Prepare reports as required by funders and partners

●  Support/Coordinate evaluation activities ensuring deliverables

●  Support micro-grant processes as needed

●  Support the A-Show production team in mounting the annual exhibition and

showcase, regarding site selection, promotion, curation, and logistics as requested


●  1-2 years working in the non-profit cultural sector in project coordination

●  Demonstrated experience engaging with under-represented artists who identify with or live on the margins

●  Demonstrated experience working with community stakeholders

●  A passion for community and building connections with multiple stakeholder groups

●  Demonstrated administrative skills

●  Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

●  Ability to thrive working remotely and in flexible work spaces and schedules

Working Conditions

●  This is a part time position at 24 hours per week, with the opportunity of increased hours contingent on project direction and resources

●  Hours of work are flexible to meet project needs

●  Work sites may include offices at Art Starts, Jumblies, SKETCH-CUE and VIBE Arts as well as remotely
