Arts Linkups 2011-12
Fostering creative exchanges between arts service organizations and other sectors
The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) has launched a round of meetings called Arts Linkups to get arts service organizations and other organizations serving Ontario’s arts communities talking about mutually beneficial ideas. Arts service organizations were asked to identify themes and topics and to list organizations and individuals with which they would like to meet. So far, two meetings have already taken place. Topics discussed included “exploring innovation in outreach and emerging leadership development” and “strengthening the theatre sector in Ontario and Canada.” Similar plans specifically for Francophone arts service organizations are underway.
Promoting partnerships between the arts and diverse networks and sectors is a key priority for OAC. Depending on the outcomes of the first round of meetings, there could be more in the future.
