Call for Volunteer Sketch Artists: Refocus Project

VOLUNTEER SKETCH ARTISTS
 
We Will Now Youth International Development Projects is a non-profit organization focused on supporting and encouraging youth residents of low income communities to become more socially and civically engaged in global development. Our objective is to provide quality learning opportunities both locally and abroad that strengthen communities and individuals to be self-sustaining leaders. We.Will.Now envisions a cross-cultural connection between low-income communities of Toronto, and those throughout the world. A connection built on shared experiences, and resources, and linked through social interaction, community engagement and education. WWN works to create cross-cultural programs and projects that meet the needs of marginalized groups throughout the world, supports the priorities within the respective communities, and also allows for information sharing and dialogue.

RATE OF PAY: N/A
DATE & TIME COMMITMENT: FEBRUARY 29TH, 2012 & MARCH 7TH, 2012 – 5:30PM TO 8:30PM
LOCATION: ART GALLERY OF ONTARIO – 317 DUNDAS STREET WEST (Dundas St West & University Ave)
 
DESCRIPTION: Through the Refocus project a group of young people from across the city of Toronto, will identify a social cause that they are passionate about, with the assistance of highly skilled socially conscious artists they will work to further explore their cause and through dedicated workshops begin to transform the social cause into a piece of art, that will become the city-wide symbol. We are currently seeking sketch artists to work with the Refocus artists to develop drafts of their social conscious symbols.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Facilitating discussions on the creative process Engage Refocus artists in brainstorming activities Assist Refocus artists with developing drafts/sketches of their concept.
