Creative Mosaics Needs Your Input!

July 28, 2010

Creative Mosaics: Mentoring in Community Arts & Cultures – A Needs & Capacity Assessment is a collaborative project created to respond to the lack of culturally inclusive arts programming available for newcomers, youth and culturally diverse communities in Scarborough. The goal of the assessment is to achieve a fully developed proposal with the capacity for an arts and culture program that will involve mentorship and intergenerational components, provide learning opportunities in the arts and an exploration of diverse cultural identities.

In the last five months, the development phase of Creative Mosaics was focused on developing school partnerships, conducting focus group sessions and collecting surveys on the arts and cultural interests in five elementary schools in Scarborough. This summer we are engaging youth, community members, community workers, immigrant and culturally diverse artists and cultural leaders to help us:

Identify the interest in and need for culturally diverse arts and culture programs in Scarborough.
Identify how arts organizations can better support professional and emerging immigrant and culturally diverse artists in Scarborough.

Provide your feedback by completing our online survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/creative-mosaics
This is a great project – it would be wonderful to have some really strong feedback!
