Program Manager, One World: Glendower Music Program
Rate of Pay: $20.5/hr
Start Date: October (dates/times flexible)
Location: Scarborough
One World: Glendower is a music program conceptualized and funded entirely by Scarborough youth. One World: Glendower, gives local youth opportunities, tools, training and skills to express themselves in a supportive, respectful atmosphere. The program is geared towards promoting musical ideas and expressions, building a healthier community, empathy, social responsibility and positive character development.
Job Description
The manager of One World organizes the set up of the program; assist in development of recording space, hire, coordinate and oversee program facilitators, manage programming space, register participants, community outreach, liaise with Art Starts Program Director, the One World Council and the community, and be on site during all program hours. Strong administrative, interpersonal skills and knowledge of the music industry are essential. Workshops typically take place twice a week for 12 weeks, plus additional rehearsal and recording
time closer to the end of the program. Schedule is flexible.
Qualifications
The One World: Glendower Program Manager will oversee all tasks and duties related to the successful implementation of The One World Program.
The Program Manager must:
- have exceptional organization, administrative and communication skills
- have a background in/or extensive knowledge of the music industry
- some knowledge using specific music software (Reason, Protools, Cubase)
- have excellent group facilitation skills
- be committed to the One World Vision
- be a natural leader
- be able to work evenings and occasional weekends
- have experience working in community development
- access to a vehicle is an asset
