Additional Information

Open since 2008, by lighting specialist and designer Jodie Orange, Living Lighting on King has become a part of the expansion of the Fashion and Design district of west Toronto. With a focus on fresh contemporary lighting solutions LLK, caters to the hip loft and condo resident as well as the high end homeowner. You will also find a variety of the lights carried by LLK in many businesses and restaurants in the King West community as well as the rest of the greater Toronto area.
As a member of the neighborhood for the past six years we have taken pleasure in being part of community development and are continually looking for ways to involve LLK in establishing the King West identity. This wouldn’t be the first time LLK has collaborated with artists, in 2008 LLK gave it’s space to the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche all night art festival as an exhibition site for a participating artist. In 2010, LLK hosted Illuminated Art where we invited artists to incorporate lighting into a sculptural art work then showcased the works in a private exhibition at our location.
LLK strives to continually collaborate with various artists and designers from all over the city with deep investment in Toronto unique culture. Recently, in our own backyard, the face of urban art in Toronto has shifted. With a ban on public art and graffiti, the once internationally known Queen Street alleys are in danger of being erased. Looking to bridge the urban street art aesthetic with the high end King Street consumer, we are hoping to reestablish the common interest of Toronto’s artists and designers in continuing to add beauty and interest to our urban landscape.
