@StrollCity: Interactive Project Focuses on Toronto Neighbourhoods

September 9, 2010

@StrollCity
September 21 to October 5, 2010

Shawn Micallef, the author of this spring's Stroll: Psychogeographic Walking Tours of Toronto, typically explores the city on foot throughout the week. From September 21 to October 5, he'll be tweeting his discoveries through the Twitter handle @strollcity, in addition to his own feed.

TTC riders can tweet their replies to Micallef's texts, and they'll see them appear in an ever-changing spot that will run every 10 minutes on the Onestop TTC network of subway platform screens, visible to over 1 million subway commuters daily. Torontonians are encouraged to walk their city and share their findings with TTC riders across the city. Get involved in this unique, groundbreaking opportunity: a city-wide, interactive media-art project that engages with Toronto and its citizens.

Shawn Micallef's book Stroll celebrates Toronto’s details at the speed of walking, taking readers from well-known spots like the CN Tower and Pearson Airport to the overlooked corners of Scarborough and all the way to the end of the Leslie Street Spit.
