SUMMER PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Duration of Contract: 16 Weeks

Purpose:
Under the direction of the (Executive Director / General Manager) and the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, the Summer Program Assistant is responsible for administrative duties associated with the Centre’s upcoming Summer Program Intensive, which will take place at Trent University, Peterborough ON. This position will be based out of our Toronto office, with occasional travel to Peterborough.

Duties:
The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the following areas:
Marketing, Promotion of CIT programs and facilities
Assisting with student recruitment for CIT’s training programs
Distributing promotional materials
Outreach activities
Develop and nurture community contacts
Some office administration
Filing, database management, written communications
Responding to information inquires
Artist Liaison
Data management regarding funding information
Travel will be required

Qualifications:
Applicant must be under 30 and of First Nations ancestry
Must be returning to school in September 2012.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Understanding of Aboriginal Arts Community
Valid Drivers License and access to vehicle would be an asset

Funding for this position is made possible through Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment and Training.
