Toronto Urban Film Festival
September 10 to 19, 2010

Watch for the fourth annual Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) on the ONESTOP network of subway platform screens across the city. This year’s selection of 80 films will surprise and entertain an audience of 1 million daily commuters. The creativity and skill of the filmmakers is apparent in these silent, one-minute jewels.

The festival plays once every ten minutes across the network, and non-stop at designated Film Zones, located at Bloor (north and southbound), Dundas (southbound) and St. Andrew (southbound) stations.

You can also watch all the films online and vote for your favourite at http://www.torontourbanfilmfestival.com/

TUFF is gaining respect and recognition around the world, as well as at home. It was a banner year for the festival, with 355 submissions from 25 Countries. The 80 official selections represent 11 countries, with 50 films from Toronto.

"Trying to communicate a story in 60 seconds or less is no easy task. Especially when you cannot use any sound and you must rely on purely visual storytelling. I was amazed at the quality and ingenuity of these very short, yet powerful films. Each film was unique, original and managed to explore fascinating topics. This has proven to be a very successful year for TUFF, and this unique and creative platform continues to be an incredible way to celebrate our diverse city." Deepa Mehta, TUFF 2010 Guest Judge

TUFF is co-produced by Art for Commuters and Onestop Media Group, and funded by the Canada Council for the Arts.
