Workshops: It's Who We Are and We Are What We Eat!
Shadowland Theatre’s FREE workshop series for young adults 14-24 is up and running, and we’re focusing on the delicious theme of FOOD - everything from hunger and greed, to fast-food empires and urban gardening.
As a starting point we are taking the old story of Hansel and Gretel with its starving family, deserted children, dark forest and tempting edible house. We want to blow it apart and come up with our own 21st century version - Hans & Gret 2.0? Starting this Thursday for two weeks (April 22 & 29) – a special workshop with fantastic storyboard artist, writer/illustrator Willow Dawson (www.willowdawson.com). Come and learn storyboard techniques and create your own.
Workshops are every Thursday 4.30 to 6.30pm with an emphasis on experimentation and hands-on creation - writing, storyboarding, puppetry, animation, music, video and performance. We even provide snacks!
It’s not too late to get involved. Bring your own ideas and join in. Email Anne Barber at shadow@shadowlandtheatre.ca or call (416) 898-0946
Workshops take place at the Shadowland studio 26 Noble Street in Parkdale (one west of Dufferin, just north off Queen)
