In this workshop series you will connect to your own words, investigate your stories, learn what supports your writing process, and have fun writing. A series of short writing exercises will help you become more comfortable and open to poetry’s magic. Poems, music, and simple movement will encourage you to work through your writing fears, enter your writing more fully, and say what you want to say. You’ll discover ways to edit your work and begin to learn about Toronto poetry scenes, including reading venues, and opportunities to publish.
Poetry comes from the energies and tensions of our bodies, spirits, emotions, and minds. As a group we will create three dynamic evenings which will help our writing break through some blocks and go where it needs to go. We’ll work with our rhythms, stories, and obsessions – get inspired. Poetry needn’t be intimidating. Come write your socks off!
