About:
S.L.A.M. I AM is all about honoring and reclaiming our Warriorism through Spoken Lyricism Arranges Meaning or (SLAM). Integrating the diverse principles of the medicine wheel teachings, participants will develop original lyrical writings and musical compositions, inspired by their own anti-colonial journey. Universal themes such as: East: Loving Your Roots South: Self-Determination and Diverse Truths West: Global Mobilization North: Earth Knowledge The first Project was funded by the Toronto Arts Council Community Arts Access Grant. Workshops ran twice a week at Eastview Jr. Public School for the Native Child and Family Services House of Ghesgis after four programming. 5-7pm for youth 12-25 years.
